The Gaviota Coast Conservancy and the Naples Coalition are investigating past and current public recreational use of open areas and pathways into, across and throughout lands of the eastern Gaviota Coast - from the Bacara Resort west, through Naples to Dos Pueblos Canyon. All areas and types of public use are of interest, including bluffs and open areas between the highway and Pacific Ocean. Information about use of the beach is not necessary. The investigation is for the purpose of determining whether any public rights of use may exist on these lands and be established and protected by reason of past public use.
